A day as an analyst

Here is what the day of an analytical chemist looks like!

The samples were prepared from the large test tubes (bottom left).  They have then gone through some purification processes by chromatography (top left and right). The final clean and clear extracts were transferred to small sample vials (bottom right). Then, it’s time for instrumental analysis! The instrument is called the liquid chromatography – mass spectrometer (centre top and bottom) Isn’t that cool? – Elizabeth Lam, ALS Technichem (HK) Pty Ltd.
